Lovely! Moving water is a such great subject for photography whether you take it take it with a slow shutter speed for a blurred effect like here or with a fast shutter to freeze the moment.
This has a feel of hail stones pouring into water, or maybe just a salt shaker adding crystals to a pot …. it’s is a challenge visually to decipher, I think that is what I like about it …
It is interesting and well proven that our brain sees what it wants to see regardless of what the eyes are telling it … I have seen this myself, and heard stories others related that substantiate it too. This could be a good subject for your camera …?
I agree,we see what we want to see. We see or interpret the scene or happening in front of us the way we want to or may be the way we will prefer it to. Don’t you think even spooky stories one listens is one such thing? I also think that abstract photography is all about it. And if it is open for further interpretation then it is even more interesting.
That’s it exactly, we make the image in our minds of what we ‘think ‘ we are seeing. Or in the case of stories, the words become alive in our minds based on the images we construct … I think that is why I like writing poetry, it feels like watercolors in the mind …
I like the words “watercolours in the mind..” !! May be that is why I like abstract photography…
I love the monsoon season. The rain freshens up the air!
Particularly in India. Monsoon can be so dramatic!
Sonali this is a lovely, effective post. Including the commentary between Grandfathersky and you. I agree wholeheartedly about the depth in which abstract art/photography can take the imagination. I always take a photograph with the intention to further the thinking process and emotion of the viewer to a new place. Wonderful work Sonali.

Thank you,Kathryn. And it also raises so many emotions in the mind when you see it!

Thank you! I always find abstractness fascinating as it raises many questions.

Silly thought, but you know me – what about 90 degrees clockwise rotation????? A
Not silly at all Adrian. I tried it by turning this photo every way. Unfortunately it does not work.

Water makes such a great photographic subject… Well done! ๐
Thanks. I think it is also an easy subject to explore. As it suggests so many possibilities, you do not need to worry about the result. ๐
Yeah, that’s exactly it!
