Ranki (Rani-ki) Vav, Patan,Gujarat

Ranki Vav-stepwell- was built in AD 11th century. Intricate carvings on all seven layers of this step-well are seen to be believed.

The details of Indian building carvings are astonishing and very beautiful. Wish I could see them for real (unable to get there, unfortunately, otherwise I would). Clear photo with good detail. Liked.

  Thanks! it is a step-well. I.e. Well where you can climb down to the level of water. This particular step-well goes seven floors down. It has amazing carving on all floors.
