Words surround me,
but am I listening?
Inane talk floats over me,
covering me in its gossamer cloud.
failing to gather sense of it,
I let it pass over me.
I look at faces around me,
animated and engrossed.
Sound waves go up and down.
Trying to swim in the current,
I make an attempt to be still.
Realising futility of it all,
restlessness takes over me.
Searching for a peaceful nook
I let soundless world take over me.
Great write! Great imagery !

Thanks Ledia!
You are very welcome.
Excellent poem! Said like a true introvert! …from one to another. π
Thanks! I am extrovert in company I like, otherwise I just clam up! π
Again, that’s the definition of an introvert — I’m one too. I mean “introvert” in the Myers-Briggs personality type sense.
Need to check that out π
Quiet solitude. Quiet silence. Quiet centeredness
Thanks! You meditate when you reach that soundless world.
very poetic expression of the inner self, in the cacophony of this outer world. your poems are so introspective ‘n expressive, sonali.
tfs. regards.
Thanks! Writing like photography is stress buster for me.
