    1. Thanks. I love to photograph world around me. But question always bother me, am I invading their privacy?

      Wise old men
      In their crumpled shirts
not a smile on their countenance
      watching and wondering
      What makes them so special.
      Eyeing my camera with trepidation,
      I realize,
Sensing wariness I gave them a smile.
Impassive faces tell me thousand stories,
Each line on their faces show rigours of toil
Each crease of cloth conceal a tale to tell
I gently prod them to talk,
Wanting to narrate their stories in shots.
      Sensing reluctance to talk,
      I decide to walk away.
      Photographer in me,rebel in me.
Quickly turning back, I click away.
      They remain unmoved as ever.
I got my shot but raised question in my mind
      Should I have clicked?
Did I invade privacy they keep?
      Eternal question for my ilk.

      1. I applaud you for being so courageous and persistent to get that shot. That is why I’ve always struggled with photography and videography. Invading some one’s presence. That is why I usually shoot inanimate objects and nature. I am somewhat an introvert in this regard. I guess I like creating art within a solitary void. Hence my being drawn to painting and sitting at a computer.

      2. Whenever I shoot humans,I try to establish a connection. They generally know that I am shooting them. Sometime I talk to them when I shoot. I give them enough time to refuse or get up and walk away. Fortunately for photographers in India, people love being photographed. And sometimes you do feel like a Pied Piper ! I love doing candid portraits.
In fact in my case camera has helped me by taking away my shyness. I have become extrovert after I started photography. If I was able to do painting,I may not have touched camera! 😦
