Simply excellent, Sonali – both the photo and your gaining this prize – its a really thrilling achievement!
This photo is so full of tones, textures and patterns – perfect for mono! – that it could probably stand alone, but the inclusion of the little girl inserts a little bit of humanity amongst all of the powerful graphics and lifts the whole thing to a much higher level.
Also there are the feelings that she’s a prisoner, she’s trapped and wants to get out, and also that she’s looking at something threatening or worrying out of frame to the left. Excellent stuff, and well done! Adrian
