It was built in 1573 by Sidi Saiyyed , slave of Sultan Ahmedshah , in last year of his rein. Built in Indo-saracenic tradition , it is famous for its beautiful stone carving. Beautifully intertwined tree and it’s foliage is delicately and artistically carved out.

Center window of the western wall of the mosque is left uncarved. Two different versions are attributed to this. According to one version, it could not be completed as Mughals invaded Gujarat before it could be finished. Another version blame it on British. It is hinted that this beautifully carved window was carved out and shipped to London.
